FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

WHAT SHOULD I WEAR?

The main thing is choosing something that you feel comfortable and confident in, and appropriate for the weather,  I recommend bringing a selection of different clothing pieces; black, neutral and pastel colours always work so well. Depending on what you want from your shoot you can wear anything from a dress to casual clothes or a formal riding outfit.

WHAT SHOULD MY HORSE WEAR?

I would suggest you prep your horse as you would if it was going to a show, free of mud and stains, nose, mouth and eyes wiped, hooves painted, clean tack and bit. You can keep your horse's mane natural or go for a smart clean look with some braids. A bridle or a leather head collar looks the smartest but make sure its cleaned beforehand because I cannot edit dirty tack!. Please try and avoid bright nylon head collars and lead ropes as they can be distracting in the photos. Alternatively I can supply a thin photoshoot rope halter that can be used for bridle-less photos, which is later edited out in post processing.

WHAT IF THE WEATHER IS BAD?

I always keep an eye on the weather a few days beforehand and will contact you prior to the shoot to make sure the weather is suitable. If conditions look bad I am happy to reschedule for another day. Nobody wants a photoshoot standing in the rain looking miserable

WHAT TIME AND LOCATION?

Most of my sessions are shot on location at a rider's yard, but I am happy to travel to a location of your choice if you would prefer, but please let me know when you book your photo shoot. The best lighting is 1-2 hours before sunset for that beautiful golden hour avoiding any harsh light. If you are not available at late afternoon or evening times I am always flexible and if needed we can find shady spots away from bright sunlight. For overcast and gloomy days I usually shoot a bit earlier in the day.

WHAT HAPPENS IF MY HORSE MISBEHAVES?

Don't worry! I have a lot of patience, they are horses after all and some things might not always go as planned, I allow for plenty of time to ensure your horse feels relaxed and calm before taking photos, and always have a few tricks to get your horses attention. However it is advisable to have someone with you to be on hand if needed.

WHAT IF I HAVE MULTIPLE HORSES?

If you have more than one horse I am happy to photograph you with them individually or all together as a group. Please note... if you decide to do individual photos the time with each horse will be shorter in order to fit everyone in the same time slot.

HOW DO I PAY?

Bank transfer, cash, or Paypal. Payment of the 50% initial payment is non-refundable and secures your booking date. An invoice will be sent to you at the time of booking. The remainder of the cost of the shoot will be taken on the day which can be taken by an electronic card reader
